Exciting updates are on the way for Bill Pay through Blue Ridge Bank! We will release a new Bill Pay program called CheckFree Next on October 15, 2025.

Exciting updates are on the way for Bill Pay through Blue Ridge Bank! We will release a new Bill Pay program called CheckFree Next on October 15, 2025.

*Please note – this upgrade is only for Personal/Retail Bill Pay. Businesses will only be affected if they access the service through personal online banking. 

CheckFree Next is the next-generation Bill Pay platform that delivers a simple, intuitive and engaging Bill Pay experience.

The upgrade will happen automatically with no downtime expected. The transition from our current Bill Pay program to CheckFree Next is designed to be seamless and straightforward, so you can continue to manage your payment-related tasks like you have in the past.

To prepare for the October 15, 2025, transition, we are implementing a few early changes. Please note the following updates to take place on Bill Pay by August 30, 2025:

  • Removal of “Pay Your Bills” Widget in Desktop View
    To ensure a more consistent and simplified experience across devices, the “Pay Your Bills” widget will be removed from the desktop view. This change will not affect mobile users and is aimed at aligning the interface across platforms.
  • User Profile Updates
    The “View and Manage Profile” and “View and Manage Accounts” options will no longer be available within CheckFree Next. Instead, we will enable User Synchronization between Retail Online Banking and Bill Pay. This ensures that user profile information remains accurate and up to date across systems.

Key highlights of the CheckFree Next upgrade include:

  • Find eBills and reminders in a prominent Unpaid Bills section. Other billers will be arranged by user activity in the My Billers section
  • Search will be added to the Bill Pay home page to help users locate a specific biller and navigate through Bill Pay more quickly and conveniently
  • Bill Pay users’ ability to manage payments and all payment activity, including scheduled and processed payments, will remain unchanged  
  • Recurring payment settings and AutoPay plans will remain unchanged
  • Users will also have continued access to, and will be able to organize in groups, any billers they have added in the current BillPay program
  • Aesthetic and functionality enhancements will be added for improved accessibility and conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)  
  • "View and Manage Profile" and "View and Manage Accounts" options will not be available in the CheckFree Next. User sync will be enabled as part of the upgrade to ensure user profile information remains current and synchronized with Retail Online Banking (as mentioned above)
  • To create a more consistent and streamlined experience across platforms, the home page "Pay your bills" widget, will no longer be available in desktop view (as mentioned above)

After the upgrade, you will have the ability to switch between the CheckFree Next and our current Bill Pay program for 30 days. However, "View and Manage Profile" and "View and Manage Accounts" will not be accessible on either programs post-upgrade.
