Economic Impact Payment Information

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security ("CARES") Act was signed into law on March 27, 2020. Among other things, the CARES Act authorizes Economic Impact Payments (EIP) to eligible individuals. These payments are sometimes referred to as "stimulus payments" or "recovery rebate payments."

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which was signed into law on March 11, 2021, authorizes an additional round of Economic Impact Payments to eligible individuals. This includes $1,400 EIP for qualified individuals. 

Ways To Stay Informed - 

  • Actively check the IRS and Treasury websites for updated information about the anticipated timing, amount, eligibility requirements and distribution methods for the proposed stimulus payments. 
  • Refer to IRS documentation for rules regarding impact payments, delinquent debt and garnishment
     
  • Not all consumers will receive funds through direct deposit. Some will receive a check or debit card via U.S. Mail
