New Security Features at Blue Ridge Bank

1. Customized Fraud Alerts for Debit Cardholders

• Blue Ridge Bank now offers customized fraud alerts via text message to all new and existing debit cardholders. They will appear like the example below. BRB stands for Blue Ridge Bank. Please contact or visit your local branch to confirm your cell phone number is up to date.
  • • Please note - If you currently have notifications set up via the Brella App produced by our debit card processor, SHAZAM, they will continue like normal.

2. MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) Masking on Statements

• Blue Ridge Bank has introduced a new security feature to “mask” the account information visible on checks images that appear on printed and electronic bank statements.  This will protect our accountholders against potentially fraudulent activity.

In the example below, the bottom check image has the account information removed. This is what Blue Ridge Bank accountholders will see on check images in statements going forward.
